...BBC News Online! grin

The BBC News website is celebrating 10 years online this week. The best news website in the world? It has always been my homepage. What do you think?

The BBC site is well laid out and easy to navigate. It was trusted as being more impartial then most sites though since the dreadful treatment that the BBC received due to the Dr Kelly affair, and the absolutely disgraceful conclusions of Hutton, that impartiality seems to have suffered.

I also use the site as a base for gathering news topics, but now, instead of trusting the site completely, i will look elsewhere to ensure that the news reported can be corroborated and that it has been reported accurately.

Even so, the Beeb still has high standards in it's reporting. Obviously, all sites reporting news will have bias of one form or another, be it through editorial policy, or through the opinion of the reporter. But apart from their problems over the last few years, it is still one of the best sites to be kept up to date with news topics.

Personally I think it's worth the licence fee alone.

No argument from me. Those who whine about the licence fee simply don't know what they are talking about. I once put together a fairly comprehensive list of what the licence fee pays for. It ran to such length that even I was impressed!
